Monochrome

While contrasty, deeply saturated colours are a signature of Rachelle’s photographic style, images take on a whole new life when they’re out of the picture. And, by removing the distraction of colour and shifting the focus to the interplay of light and dark, monochrome photography allows other elements to have their moment in the spotlight: lines, shapes, composition, surfaces, patterns, textures and other intriguing details that are easily overlooked when bold hues are at play. This collection of images showcases some of Rachelle’s favourite monochrome moments from her travels across the world.
