So it turns out we were both loitering in the car park at Maroubra Beach this arvo, looking a bit suss.
Gotta love a sassy lorikeet! This shouty chap was loitering in the car park at Maroubra Beach this arvo.
Today I took a roadtrip with AAT Kings and the Empty Esky crew to the Shoalhaven area of NSW, where I stocked up on local produce. It's such a simple but effective way to help community businesses get back on their feet after the horror of the bushfires. Heaps of fun too. I even got to have lunch with Rural Fire Service Superintendent Mark Williams and some of the summer's most extraordinary RFS volunteers - who selflessly took on these fires (including Cecily, a RFS volunteer in her 90s who first joined the service at 70 years young!!!). Actual legends and proper heroes! Obviously I had ‘something in my eye’ for a large chunk of the day but it felt good to be helpful. So friends, please DO jump in the car, grab a train or even book onto a (not-for-profit) AAT Kings coach trip down south and show these epic communities some love! Whether you only have a few hours to visit a local farmers' market or can spend a few days beach-hopping, you’ll be welcomed like a treasured friend 💚
