Have you seen that new viral pic of the two gorillas standing on their hind legs? The gorillas in that pic, Ndakasi and Ndeze, have a pretty phenomenal back story – and you can hear it all on my podcast with their rescuer, Andre Bauma, who cares for them in Senkwekwe in Virunga National Park, Congo. We recorded last year when Andre was in the field with them (so the sound isn’t always ideal) BUT their stories are probably the best I’ve ever had the privilege of sharing. For the past month or so I've been practicing for a couple of upcoming underwater adventures. As you probs know, I'm aquaphobic (which sucks because I'm obsessed with the ocean) plus my underwater photography is pretty pathetic, so I'm trying to get better at both. With regular practice I'm no longer terrified of being in the sea, just uncomfortable (success!). My pics still suck though, so I'll keep at it. Anyways, for a change of pace today in Malabar I got to hoon around on an underwater scooter, which was at least 42% faster than my old Feroza. Fun! Thanks for the snap Alicia! Happy Easter Feaster y’all...
Smiley fella just after sunrise in Port Stephens 💙
Dolphin surfacing in glassy waters off Port Stephens a few weeks back, just after the sun came up. Got a bit obsessed with how the reflected clouds and the oily looking water made mini geode slices
