Yesterday it was pretty calm and quiet out there. Apart from a super nosey juvenile who befriended every boat off South Head in the morning, all the humpies were in cruise mode with fairly long downtimes. This is the quietest part of our season each year, as we wait for the whales up north to start heading south, and we scratch our heads at the few random stragglers who are still heading north (even though the party up there will wrap up in the next few weeks). Still, we found whales on all 3 trips yesterday so hoping for more of the same today. This one was from last weekend off Bondi somewhere
This big bull Aussie Fur Seal is pure rock'n'roll - eating til he chucks up and then snoozing alongside the chuck. He's been chilling for a while on a channel marker just inside the entrance to Sydney Harbour.
Snapped this a few hours after the previous pic - same area, but different juvie. This one only seemed to jump in the extreme glare and I'm not sure if I love or hate the result. I guess it’s a bit different eh?
Getting set to head out for another day with the humpies - hoping to reenact all the action from last Saturday (this was somewhere between Bondi and South Head)
